Well it would take a pretty major collision for it to send any piece of rock all the way to Earth and it's doubtful that it wouldn't just destroy whatever small scale life was on or in the rock.

If Mars was hit by the impact necessary it would certainly look like it.

This is off the point but I wonder if the sun was as suitable for life on Mars as it is for Earth now but then suddenly got hotter and dried up all the water etc? Like life was able to form from planet to planet as the heat became enough to melt whatever ice was on them but then the planet before simply dried out due to it.
Actually, going to stop thinking about that because it would be scary if it happened now.

Anyway, if anything we're probably a mass of life accumulated from all over the galaxy not specifically Mars.
